*NOTE* I just wanted to mention before hand that the reader suffers slightly from acrophobia or fear of heights. It was slightly relative to the plot, just thought you should know.

                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hey, (name)!” a voice called, entering the living room.
“Yeah?” the girl replied, turning her attention away from her laptop screen, facing the owner of the voice “What is it, Gil?
“Well, I’ve got you booked for tomorrow! I just thought you should know.” he grinned, ignoring her incredulous expression.
“Excuse me? You have me booked?” she repeated.
“Yup! We’re going skydiving!” the albino looked so pleased with himself. His eyes were alight with a warm glow, he was sporting a goofy grin and he looked quite excited.
“Denied.” she replied, returning to her laptop, “You know I’m scared of heights.”
“Oh come on~ I already got the tickets and there isn’t any chance for a refund. So, you are coming with me.” he insisted.
“Too bad, go with Ludwig or someone else.” (name) sighed.
“Don’t want to.”
“Hmm. What a shame, I’m still not going.”
“So, make sure you’re ready at 6.” he called, making his way out of the living room.
“Have fun by yourself!” (name) cried after him.
.
.
.
“How did I end up here?” (name) groaned.
“Because I’m the amazing Gilbert and I got you to come, duh. Now come on! We have to sign in!” he dragged the (h/c)ette after himself as they walked towards the drop-zone.
After signing a few insurance forms and terms and conditions papers, the two were directed towards a briefing room. As the instructor explained what they should expect and even showed them a few videos on what they were about to do, Gilbert kept fiddling with something in his pocket. (Name) noticed this, but remained silent.
After the briefing, the pair were told to wait at for a few minutes while they got the plane ready. Gilbert kept chatting and commenting on the different people getting ready to go skydiving. Upon a group of giddy high-school going girls he said,
“They remind me of a group of Felicianos. All high-pitched and cheery, cute too.”
When a couple passed them by (name) heard Gilbert mutter,
“Wonder if we should do this again afterwards… would we enjoy it as much?”
She would have added to this, but the building butterflies denied her that ability. Even if she said she hadn’t wanted to come, and she hadn’t, she was excited. Skydiving was something she had never done, maybe thought of doing but never actually getting up and doing it, she had always been too scared to. Even looking over a railing from the second floor sent horrible shivering up her spine, now she would be willingly hurtling herself to the ground. Secretly she was glad that Gilbert had got her to come along. It looked scary as Hell but just as fun.
Finally they were ushered towards the ‘rigging tent’. There, standing among the harnesses was the pair’s mutual friend, Alfred F. Jones. The all-american blond gave them a dazzling grin as he prepped them for the actual jump.
“So, (name), Gil’s going to be your tandem instructor?” Alfred asked as he helped (name) strap up into her equipment.
“My what?” (name) had very little knowledge about skydiving and its related terms.
“I’m going to be your partner.” Gilbert quickly replied, sending his blond-haired, blue-eyed friend a light glare, “We’re going to jump together.”
“Oh, okay.”
Even though her reply seemed plain, (name) was bubbling with a sort of excitable, fearful energy. She couldn’t wait to jump but also didn’t want to. Her heart was beating louder than it should have and she wondered if the other two could hear it. Not that she cared. They did exchange a look, almost had a silent conversation. Whatever Gilbert had said must have pleased the American because Alfred thumped him on the back and gave him a thumbs up.
“Good luck you two!”
.
.
.
The plane was beginning its ascent and all (name) could feel was her stomach doing flips. She was tingling with energy, blood was rushing throughout her body, and she hadn’t even jumped yet. It must have been loud in the plane, it seemed loud, but she couldn’t really tell.
When she glanced at Gilbert, she was surprised to see how bored he looked, fiddling with something in his pocket. She wanted to ask him what it was, but nothing came out. She shivered a bit from anticipation and this caught her partner’s attention.
“We’re almost there.” he half-screamed, must have been loud, “Just a bit more!”
(name) nodded weakly.
Indeed, after what seemed like only a few seconds, they were told to ready themselves for the jump. It was then that (name) began to have second thoughts. Her breath came out a bit laboured and she was shaking slightly from excitement and fear. She was trapped in her own bubble of thoughts. Ideas, memories, thoughts all flew past her mind’s eye. She was so disoriented she felt sick. She didn’t want to do this! Who was she kidding?
“(Name), you want to know something?” Gilbert was suddenly right next to her, speaking soothingly, calming her a bit.
“What?” she half-squeaked, half-croaked.
“I really, really like you. Frankly, I think you’re amazing.”
(Name) wasn’t sure what was happening after that. The door was opened and the sound must have increased ten-fold. People were sliding towards the door and jumping out but all (Name) could hear was Gilbert’s words ringing in her ears. She wasn’t woken from her daze until said male had forced her to crawl near the door and sat behind her, fiddling with the straps. He was speaking in her ear again, his next words making her heart almost skip a beat.
“(First name) (Last name), will you marry me?”
And they jumped.
Flying. That was the only way to describe what the sensation felt like. The cold wind rushing past her, the adrenaline pumping through her body, she just had to. Letting out a loud whoop she just managed to catch snippets of what Gilbert was saying, but she was too excited to be sure.
The thrill of falling to your death and a proposal just before was making (name) a bit dizzy, or maybe it was just the hurtling to the ground, but she was enjoying the feeling.
.
.
.
If anyone asked (name) what the best moment of her life was, she would be able to answer it in a heart beat. It was when her fiancée had strapped himself to her and they jumped out of a plane after he had proposed to her.
This is based on a few headcanons I read once. I might make more for the other countires, so if you want any specific one, mention it in the comments or send me a note and I'll try writing it. Any problems you want to mention or errors in the story anyone wishes to point out, you are more than welcome. Other than that, please enjoy!
Hetalia belongs to Hidekaz
(name) belongs to You.
I love indoor skydiving, but I'm not sure I could jump out of a plane. I mean, if the plane is crashing, sure, but just for kicks? Ehh. I'm not quite that brave 😂😂 I'm not particularly afraid of heights...I'm not afraid of falling from up high...but I am a bit afraid of the landing 😂
Anyway, I often have to do things from up high in theatre. Sometimes sets are pretty high up. One time I even had to paint a giant metal gate and it was so tall that the ladders weren't tall enough--I had to use a lift. I use ladders to paint all the time (my concentration is acting, but everyone gets a tech assignment and I'm usually on paint) and I'm fine with that but I don't like extension ladders. They feel unstable. I had to use one once while taking down lights during strike. Yeah. No thanks. But otherwise I rather like heights. Just hanging out up high. I went zip lining back in May. I love zip lining. It wasn't my first time but it was my first time doing like an actual zip lining course--all the other times have been at ropes courses.
